Butterfield Bank is Bermuda’s first bank. Established in 1758 as the merchant trading firm Nathaniel Butterfield, it was incorporated as The Bank of N. T. Butterfield & Son in 1858, providing banking services to local individuals and businesses and facilitating the island’s commercial links to the rest of the world.
BFS employs 235 staff in Bermuda, The Bahamas, the Cayman Islands and Guernsey with a representative office in the United Kingdom. BFS is supported by more than 1,700 staff within Butterfield Bank Group.

services being provided to over 885 mutual and hedge funds.
Butterfield Bank is a founding member and sponsor of the Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX). The primary listing is on the BSX with secondary listings on the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange (CSX) and the Channel Islands Stock Exchange (CISX).
